Rohtak, August 11: Under the instructions of Additional Deputy Commissioner Narendra Kumar, preparations for the Independence Day celebrations on August 15 are proceeding on a war footing. While parade contingents are practicing continuously, teams for cultural programs and students participating in mass yoga drills are also working hard. The district administration is overseeing these preparations with due regard for the dignity of the national festival.
A team constituted to select cultural programs, led by Shweta Suhag (Managing Director of the Rohtak Cooperative Sugar Mill), reviewed the performances of various cultural teams at the local Rajiv Gandhi Sports Complex. District Education Officer Manjit Malik, other concerned officials, and the teachers-in-charge and students of the participating teams were present on the occasion.
Schools presenting cultural programs included Gurukul Senior Secondary School (Ladhot) with Mallakhamb and Yoga; Model School (Main Branch) with an orchestra; Government School (Lakhanmajra Block) with Haryanvi dance; and Pathania Public School, Upkar School, RPS International School, Z-Global School, Swami Nityanand Senior Secondary School, John Wesley Convent School, Sanskar Valley School, Government Senior Secondary School (Kalanaur), IB School, Shiksha Bharti School, and Sangwan International School. Participants from all cultural teams delivered impressive performances.
After reviewing the cultural programs, the selection committee chose the participating teams for the Independence Day celebrations. These teams include RPS International School, Sangwan International School, John Wesley School, Pathania Public School, Sanskar Valley School, Model School, Government School (Lakhanmajra Block), and Gurukul (Ladhot).
Eight Contingents Practicing for the Parade:
Various contingents will participate in the Independence Day parade under the leadership of Parade Commander DSP Tanuj Sharma. These contingents are practicing continuously within the stadium complex. Contingents are practicing for the grand parade under the leadership of PSI Santosh (Haryana Police Women), PSI Gaurav Chhokkar (Haryana Police Men), SI Ashok Kumar (Home Guards), Under Officer Nikki (NCC Girls), Senior Under Officer Keshav (NCC Boys), Yashvi (Girl Guides), Rajit (Boy Scouts), and Saatvik (‘Prajatantra ke Prahari’ / Guardians of Democracy).
Also present on this occasion were Kalanaur Block Education Officer Sanjay Hooda, Principals Anjana Nanda, Krishna Ranjan, and Sunita, along with the in-charges of the participating teams, students, and concerned officials.
