Patiala, : Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh reviewed the ongoing development works under the Municipal Corporation of Patiala Rural constituency and directed the officials to ensure timely completion of all projects.
Dr. Balbir Singh, during a meeting at the Municipal Corporation, directed the officials to take all the councilors into confidence for drawing up development works in various wards of the city. He said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has fulfilled all the promises made to the people during the elections and is committed to ensuring all-round development across the state.
The Health Minister said that no development work should remain pending in the constituency and stressed that the officials of the Municipal Corporation should ensure regular visits to each ward to assess the local needs and complete the works at the earliest. He specifically reviewed the progress of road construction projects and directed the officials to expedite the work.
Dr. Balbir Singh also directed the Municipal Corporation officials to conduct a comprehensive survey of the water supply pipelines before the monsoon season so that any leakage or damage can be identified and repaired. He stressed on the need for better coordination between all the departments concerned to ensure smooth and timely completion of the ongoing projects. He assured all possible assistance to the officers and councilors to resolve issues related to development works.
The Health Minister further directed the officials to complete the work of cleaning the sewer lines by the end of June before the rainy season. Mayor Kundan Gogia and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Paramjit Singh said that the Municipal Corporation has its own machine for cleaning the sewers while four additional machines will be hired to complete the work of removing silt across the city before the onset of rains.
Dr. Balbir Singh also reviewed the works related to 24×7 canal water supply, parks, street lights, roads and streets and directed the officials to complete all the projects within the stipulated time frame.
