Chandigarh , September 30 – Haryana’s Energy , Transport and Labour Minister Shri Anil Vij said that farmers are our pride , honor , dignity and respect and we will not let them face any problem. The administration should ensure that the farmers who brought their paddy crop to the market do not face any problem . He checked the moisture content of the paddy lying in the Ambala Cantonment market and gave directions to purchase the paddy with moisture content less than 17 percent and immediately lift it. He said that whatever paddy arrives , we will take immediate action and get it lifted so that the space in the market also keeps freeing up and the new farmers can get a place to store their grain.
Shri Vij was addressing the farmers , arhtiyas and the people present at the program organized after reviewing the paddy procurement work and arrangements made for the farmers at the new grain market on GT Road in Ambala Cantonment today. During this, DC Ambala Sachin Gupta , SDM Kanika Goyal , Market Committee Chairman Balwinder Singh , Vice Chairman Surendra Bindra , Nagar Parishad President Swaran Kaur and others were also present.
Energy Minister Anil Vij visited the grain market of Ambala Cantonment along with the district administration officials and inquired about all the arrangements for the procurement of paddy crop. Talking to reporters, Minister Anil Vij said that the procurement of paddy crop has started yesterday itself. The crop is being dried in the market and we are purchasing the crop with less than 17 percent moisture content , he himself went to some piles of paddy and checked the moisture content.
Energy Minister Anil Vij said that he has renovated the grain market of Ambala Cantonment , in which every facility of the farmers has been taken care of and that is why an office for the farmers , a good rest house for them to sleep , and a canteen for their food and drink have also been opened here. The canteen used to run till noon earlier but now there is a facility of providing food even at night so that the farmers who come to the market with their crops can also get dinner. He said that DC Ambala is also with me , who has been told that the crop coming to the market should be lifted immediately so that space can be found to store the crop coming later.

At the same time , addressing farmers , arhtiyas and others in a program organized in the Mandi premises, Energy Minister Anil Vij said that I was born in this city. I have seen the city breathing , this city was settled by the British in 1835-36 and a place was made here for all kinds of businesses but there was no place for the market. There was only a small square in Ambala Cantonment , where neither a trolley could go , nor was there any place to dry the crops and nor was there any proper way to buy and sell the crops. Whenever a VIP came to Ambala, the first demand of the people was to build a grain market. But we kept getting only assurances. Three Chief Ministers laid the stones for building the market but the market has not been built till date. Ambala Cantonment got only stones , no work got done. Work started only when our government came.
The new grain market is now receiving as much grain in a day as the old grain market used to receive in just a month.
He said that when our government came to power in 2014 , the first thing I did was to build a grain market in Ambala Cantonment. He said that with the construction of the grain market here, a person from the opposition , who was an agent , also appreciated it and told me that with the shifting of the grain market here, as much grain is now coming to the new grain market in a day as was coming to the old grain market in just a month. With the grain market coming here, our lives have changed.

Energy Minister Anil Vij also said on this occasion that work has been done to build a memorial for the first freedom struggle on the highway nearby. This memorial has been completed and will be inaugurated soon. He also said that in the books we were taught that the fight for freedom was fought by Congress , but Congress was born in 1885 , which was formed by an Englishman A.O. Hume. He formed the party in the name of the English word Congress and Congress is an English word. He said that the Hindi word is Bharatiya Janata Party. He said that even 28 years before the birth of Congress, an armed struggle was fought for the country’s freedom in 1857 and thousands of people were killed by bullets and thousands were imprisoned. When he did research, he came to know that the freedom struggle in 1857 started from Ambala Cantonment , that is, the armed struggle had started here 9 hours before Meerut . That is why they were demanding a memorial here for a long time. They have been MLAs seven times , whether they were in power or in the opposition , they never missed speaking. They constantly raised the demand for a martyr’s memorial here. If anyone takes even a step to liberate India, they want to touch his feet. The martyrs of 1857 were never paid tributes , nor were they remembered. Therefore, to pay tribute to those martyrs, a martyr’s memorial has been built today at a cost of Rs 800 crore in memory of the martyrs. We have solid documents of 1857 that show how and where the struggle took place at that time. It is also clear from a document written by a British officer that the struggle started in Ambala nine hours before Meerut. We have built 21 galleries in the memorial and wherever the struggle took place in the country in 1857 , it will be displayed here in a very attractive manner. Along with this, the Science Museum is also getting ready to be built soon.

Energy Minister Anil Vij said that if the development works of all the MLAs and MPs from 1952 till before I became a minister were added together , they would not be even one percent compared to the development works done by me. Energy Minister Anil Vij said that it is the grace of Prime Minister Modi’s government , the message of our party and the culture of the Bharatiya Janata Party that power is not a means of enjoying pleasure for us , but a means of serving. He said that day and night, I made the Ambala Cantonment a sub-division , made Subhash Park and got many other development works done , which Ambala Cantonment was demanding , ” I have taken it from the governments with interest and brought it here and built it”.
Energy Minister Anil Vij gave a challenge , said “If he lists the development works done by me, I will give him a reward of Rs 31 thousand”
Meanwhile, Energy Minister Anil Vij challenged and said that if someone comes here and lists the development works done by me, then I will give him a reward of Rs 31 thousand. He also said that the works done by me are alive , they themselves tell their story as to who has done them. I have made impossible works possible , which could have been done and all this has happened with the strength and faith given by your people.
On this occasion, Joint Secretary of Mandi Association Sushil Goyal welcomed the chief guest by presenting him with a shawl and a symbol of the environment (a plant).
