The District-Level Shelter House Monitoring Committee met on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mahendra Pal in the VC Auditorium of the Mini Secretariat Complex. The meeting thoroughly reviewed the condition of shelter homes operating in the district, sanitation, environmental standards, and monitoring by the concerned departments. Deputy Commissioner Mahendra Pal directed the concerned officials to ensure that all shelter homes in the district comply with the prescribed rules and standards. He directed the officials to regularly inspect the shelter homes for cleanliness, sanitation, proper waste disposal, and environmental standards. He urged the concerned departments to work in coordination and regularly monitor the shelter homes and ensure that deficiencies identified during inspections are rectified within the stipulated timeframe. If violations are found, necessary action should be taken as per the rules.
Officials from the Haryana State Pollution Control Board, Town and Country Planning Department, HSVP, Labor Department, Public Health Department, and the concerned Municipal Council/Municipal Corporation participated in the meeting. The officials presented the latest reports and departmental action taken regarding the shelter homes to the Deputy Commissioner. The Deputy Commissioner said that it is the responsibility of the concerned departments to ensure that the prescribed health, hygiene and environmental provisions are followed in the operation of shelter homes. He instructed the officials that no negligence should be shown at any level in this work.
Municipal Corporation Commissioner C Jayashradha, City Magistrate Rohit Kumar, Civil Surgeon Dr Sapna Gehlawat, District Welfare Officer Deepika Sarasar, SDO Dr Sahi Ram, AEE Kapil Saini, District Town Planner Dinesh Singh, XEN Jaiveer Singh, SI Kapil from the corporation and officials from the concerned departments were present in the meeting.
