Chandigarh , October 16 – Haryana Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister Mr. Ranbir Gangwa has directed to take strict action against the agencies that are negligent in repairing the roads during the DLP period . He clarified that if the concerned agency does not repair the road on time despite the road being damaged , the department will not delay in taking action . By getting the bank guarantee of such an agency in cash , the department will get the road repaired by deploying workers , rollers and other equipment at its own level .
Cabinet Minister Shri Ranbir Gangwa gave these instructions while chairing a review meeting with the officers of the Public Works Department at his office in Haryana Civil Secretariat . The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary of PW ( B & R) Department Shri A.K. Singh , Additional Secretary Shri Hitesh Kumar Meena , Chief Engineer level officers including ACSPW , EIC ( Buildings) , EIC ( Roads ) , all concerned SEs and Exc . Various issues including Work Programme 2026-27 , Road condition , Complaints received on ‘ Mahari Sadak ‘ App , Harsac Project , Model Road and Installation of Solar Panels on Government Buildings were reviewed in the meeting .
Mr. Gangwa said that about 19 thousand kilometers of roads in the state are under DLP period . The responsibility of maintenance and timely repair of these roads lies with the concerned agency . He directed the officers to regularly monitor the roads under DLP period and ensure immediate action if any kind of defect is found in the road . He said that there is no need to wait for a complaint for repair . The officers should go to the field themselves and see the condition of the road and take immediate action if necessary .
The Minister said that roads are directly connected with the daily movement of the common people , hence there should be no negligence in their maintenance at any level . He directed the SE , EX and other senior officers to go to the field at least three days a week and inspect the roads . He said that if during the inspection any road
