Patiala, June 6:
As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India and under the guidance of District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Agarwal, District SVEEP Nodal Officer Dr. Savinder Singh Rekhi organized an awareness program regarding Special Intensive Revision (SIR) at Nursing School Mata Kushiala Government Hospital Patiala under SVEEP activities.
On this occasion, Dr. Rekhi informed the students and staff present about the Special Intensive Revision process of voter lists and motivated the voters to get their mapping done during Pre-SIR. He informed that to facilitate voter mapping and verification, a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) camp will be organized at all polling stations across Punjab on June 7, 2026. In which Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be present at their respective polling stations from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM to assist the citizens in verifying their electoral details and resolving issues related to the voter list.
Dr. Rekhi urged all eligible voters to reach their polling stations and avail the benefits of the camp. He stressed that accurate voter rolls are the foundation of a strong and vibrant democracy and active public participation is essential to maintain the integrity of the electoral process.
SVEEP District SVEEP Nodal Officer appealed to the citizens to cooperate with the election officials and help ensure that every eligible voter is correctly represented in the electoral roll. He said that the inclusion of the names of eligible citizens in the electoral roll is very important for the strength of democracy. He encouraged the people to check their voter details and if necessary, make corrections, registrations or other necessary changes through the prescribed forms.
During this, Assistant District SWEEP Nodal Officer Mohit Kaushal gave information about various apps ECI Net, Voter Helpline. During this, Principal Surinderpal Kaur, Madam Homi, Madam Surya Samaj JV Pawan Goyal, Kaka Ram Verma, Rajkumar Garg, Rakesh Thakur provided special support in this program.
