Chandigarh: 17 June 2026 : The Punjab Government has taken an important decision to reduce the problems of women employees and provide them with a better working environment. During the meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, it was decided that women employees of Group C and D will be posted near their homes after the completion of their probation period.
Women will get relief from the hassle of long journeys
According to the new policy, priority will be given to posting women employees within a radius of 40 km from their place of residence. The government believes that this will relieve women from the hassle of long commutes and will enable them to strike a better balance between their family and professional responsibilities.
The efficiency and morale of women will also increase.
The Chief Minister said that the government is committed to ensuring a safe and comfortable working environment for women. He said that this step has been taken keeping in mind the needs of women employees, which will also increase their efficiency and morale.
He also reiterated that the safety, respect and welfare of women are the top priorities of the Punjab Government and other pro-people decisions in this regard will continue to be taken continuously.
