Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has said that the ‘Respect Law’ brought to protect the sacred dignity and respect of Guru Sahib has received full support from the Guru-Roop Sangat. He said that this law is a historic step towards protecting religious sentiments and preventing heinous crimes like sacrilege.
The Chief Minister said that the opposition leaders, who have been under question over the sacrilege cases, are still trying to mislead the people for political gains, but the support received from the Sangat has made it clear that the people of Punjab are united on the issue of respect for the Guru Ghar.
He said that with the cooperation and support of the Sangat, it will be ensured that in future any person will think many times before committing such a heinous crime. Bhagwant Mann reiterated that the Punjab government will always stand firm for the protection of Panthic values, religious respect and the rights of Punjab.
