On the occasion of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, a big and unique initiative was launched by the Punjab Government under the “Way Against Drugs” campaign to keep the youth of the state away from the scourge of drugs and engage them in the constructive side of national service and employment. The Chief Minister, Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann formally released the special informative flex boards prepared by the District Administration and District Employment and Business Bureau Patiala under the able guidance of Deputy Commissioner Patiala Dr. Himanshu Agarwal at Patiala today. These flexes will soon be installed in 400 playgrounds of Patiala, so that maximum youth can benefit from them.
The Chief Minister said that the Punjab government is committed to the complete eradication of drugs and the most effective way to do this is to channelize the energy of the youth in the right direction.
Complete information about the physical standards and tests required for recruitment in Punjab Police, Indian Army and Central Armed Police Forces has been provided through these special flex boards for the convenience of the youth desirous of joining the uniformed services.
The Chief Minister highly appreciated this innovative step of the District Employment Bureau and the Patiala administration.
Giving more information in this regard, Deputy Commissioner Patiala Dr. Himanshu Agarwal said that on the lines of the board installed at Maharaja Bhalinder Singh Polo Ground, in the coming days these awareness flex boards will be displayed in all the main athletic grounds, school playgrounds and common playgrounds of villages in Patiala district, so that the youth of rural and urban areas can take maximum advantage of it and make their valuable contribution in rejecting drugs and serving the country.
