Patiala Municipal Corporation Mayor Kundan Gogia today held an important meeting with the Water Supply Branch’s inspection staff and approved licensed contractors. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the branch’s revenue, day-to-day functioning, water bill collection, and the quality of services being provided to the public. The Mayor instructed officials to focus not only on increasing revenue but also on ensuring timely, transparent, and efficient public services.
The meeting also reviewed complaints from residents regarding delays in restoring roads after excavation work for new water supply connections. Taking serious note of the issue, Mayor Kundan Gogia issued clear instructions to all approved licensed contractors that whenever a new water connection is installed, the road must be restored immediately to prevent inconvenience to commuters and local residents.
The Mayor also reviewed the status of 69 pending files related to new water supply connections, along with pending compound case files awaiting approval for a long time. He directed the concerned officials to dispose of all pending cases within the prescribed timeline under the Transparency Act, ensuring that citizens do not have to make repeated visits to government offices and receive services without unnecessary delay.
Concluding the meeting, Mayor Kundan Gogia stated that the primary objective of the Patiala Municipal Corporation is to provide better, transparent, and accountable civic services to the people of the city. He instructed officials and contractors to work in close coordination and ensure that every task is completed strictly in accordance with the prescribed rules and within the stipulated time frame.
