Patiala, July 19:
The special camps held at all 1786 polling booths in Patiala district today for filling and submitting the enumeration forms under Special Intensive Revision (SIR) received a huge response from the voters. As per the directions of the Chief Electoral Officer Punjab and under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Electoral Officer Dr. Himanshu Agarwal, citizens who were unable to fill their forms earlier filled and submitted their enumeration forms in these camps held at all polling booths in the district.
Dr. Himanshu Agarwal said that the entire process of SIR will be completed in the district as per the revised schedule issued by the Election Commission of India regarding Special Intensive Revision. He said that during the special camps, the BLOs provided all possible assistance to the voters in filling and submitting the enumeration forms. Now, the BLOs will complete the next process as per the revised schedule.
The Deputy Commissioner said that as per the instructions of the Chief Electoral Officer Punjab, the work of door-to-door distribution of enumeration forms will continue till August 3, 2026. He appealed to all the eligible citizens of the district to actively participate in the SIR process and get their electoral details correct and updated.
