Patiala: Aam Aadmi Party District President and District Planning Committee Chairman Tejinder Mehta felicitated eminent personalities from different fields in recognition of their outstanding contributions to society. The felicitation ceremony was held at the office of the District Planning Committee, where former Chairman of the Zila Parishad Jaspal Singh Kalyan attended as the chief guest.
On the occasion, Dr. Renu, former Principal of Government College for Girls, Patiala; Dr. Jasvir Singh, Assistant Professor in the Department of Punjabi at Government Mahindra College, Patiala, and a noted poet; Dr. Raj Kumar Mittal, retired Meteorologist from the India Meteorological Department; and Mrs. Zubaida, teacher at Government Primary School, Prem Nagar, Patiala, were honoured for their distinguished contributions and exemplary services in their respective fields.
Addressing the gathering, Chairman Tejinder Mehta said that personalities who render exemplary services in the fields of education, literature, science and social welfare are the true assets of society. Honouring such individuals is not only a recognition of their dedicated services but also an inspiration for the younger generation to contribute towards the betterment of society. He said that under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Aam Aadmi Party National Convener Arvind Kejriwal, education, healthcare and social welfare have been accorded top priority, and drawing inspiration from this vision, it is the collective responsibility of society to honour those who work selflessly for public welfare.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest Jaspal Singh Kalyan appreciated the initiative and said that recognising people who have made meaningful contributions to society is a commendable tradition. Such efforts encourage others to come forward and work for the welfare and progress of society.
