Patiala: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will flag off the new junior mini buses of PRTC in Patiala today. The function in this regard will be held at 10:15 am at the PRTC head office located on Nabha Road.
New buses to join PRTC fleet
To further strengthen the government bus service in Punjab, PRTC is increasing its bus fleet. Earlier in September, PRTC Chairman Harpal Juneja had informed that 100 new junior mid-size buses will be added to the corporation.
Passengers may get relief
With the introduction of new buses on the roads, it is expected that the convenience of government transport on various routes will increase. This can provide convenience to the passengers in commuting. Along with this, efforts are also being made by PRTC to improve bus services and infrastructure.
250 new buses were added earlier too.
It is worth mentioning that in April 2026, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had flagged off 250 new PRTC buses in Patiala. Now this process of adding junior mini buses to the fleet is being seen in conjunction with the expansion of government bus service.
Apart from this, a meeting was recently held between PRTC officials and employee unions, after which information emerged that the strike of PRTC and PUNBUS employees had ended.
