Kurukshetra: Amidst the long-running dispute over the management of Miri-Piri Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre located in Shahabad of the district, the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC) today took over the management of the institution. Terming it a historic day for Haryana, Committee President Jagdish Singh Jhinda said that now the Haryana Committee will run the institution and the employees will not be allowed to face any kind of problem.
Jagdish Singh Jhinda said that due to the efforts of all the members of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, the management of Miri-Piri Medical College and Institute has been taken over today. He said that now the responsibility of doctors, employees and other staff will be fully with HSGMC and the operation of the institution will continue as before.
He assured the employees that the outstanding salary of one month, which amounts to about Rs 1 crore 37 lakh, will be released tomorrow. The process of paying the remaining two months’ salary has also been started soon. Jhinda said that from now on, the employees will not face any problem in getting their salary and in future, all salaries will be paid on time by the Haryana Committee.
He said that the doctors and staff working in the institution should continue their work without any worry. No employee will be discriminated against and the interests of all will be taken care of. Taking a dig at the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Jhinda said that the Haryana Committee was given 72 hours’ time but despite this, the arrangements were not handed over. He said that some people were spreading the word that the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee is not capable, but today the committee has given an answer by taking the management of the institution into its own hands.
