Patiala, September 30:
District Food Safety Officer of Patiala Dr. Gurpreet Kaur has informed that the Food Safety Team Patiala inspected several places on September 29, 2026 to check various food items. During this, 15 surveillance samples of spices were taken, which have been sent for testing.
He informed that apart from this, an online inspection of another business place was also conducted, during which a correction notice was issued.
Dr. Gurpreet Kaur further informed that after this, the team inspected a business place, where some such products were found, on which information was recorded of being manufactured, packed and marketed by Messrs. Vaid Vidya Sagar Ayurveda Pvt. Ltd. Patiala. Some of these products were labelled as ‘Dietary Supplements’ and had Food Safety License number also registered on them.
He said that during the examination of the relevant records, it was revealed that the registered license was not issued for the manufacture and packaging of these products. In this case, the team has seized 21 different types of products, which were shown to be manufactured, packed and marketed by the said firm, which were in different quantities.
The District Food Safety Officer clarified that no compromise will be tolerated with the health and safety of consumers. After examining all the records and facts regarding the seized products in the case, strict legal action will be taken as per the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and the rules and regulations made thereunder. If the rules are found to be violated, appropriate action will be taken against the responsible party as per the law.
