Chandigarh , October 14 – Haryana Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister Shri Shyam Singh Rana has directed the officials to work towards arranging advanced fodder seeds for milch cattle in the state so that people can get good quality milk. For this, he also directed to explore the possibilities of framing a policy.
Shri Rana was presiding over a meeting of senior officers of the Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department , Luvas University , Livestock Development Board and Haryana Gau Seva Aayog at his office in Chandigarh. Principal Secretary of Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department Shri Vijay Singh Dahiya , Director Dr. Prem Singh , Vice-Chancellor of Luvas University Hisar Dr. Vinod Kumar Verma and other officers were present in the meeting.
Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister Shri Shyam Singh Rana said that dairy cattle should be fed fodder which is not prepared with chemical fertilizers and medicines , because the use of DAP , urea and chemical fertilizers makes the fodder toxic and the chemicals from that fodder reach the human who drinks the milk. He directed the officials to encourage the cattle breeders to prepare fodder with organic and natural fertilizers , along with making available advanced type of seeds. He said that if necessary, a policy can also be made for this.
Shri Rana also said that a scheme related to subsidy should be prepared to encourage farmers to open desi cow dairies , this will not only help in improving our breed , but also the nectar prepared from their cow urine can be used as fertilizer in natural farming. He also directed to prepare a scheme like “Day-Boarding Cattle Hostel” on Panchayat land for the cattle of the villages so that the cattle of the village can roam like a pasture within the boundaries of this hostel during the day and at night the cattle farmer can take the cattle to his house.
The Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister also reviewed the “CM-Announcements” and “Budget-Announcements” related to the department and directed the officials to complete all the announcements within the stipulated time.
