Aam Aadmi Party State General Secretary and Media In-charge Baltej Singh Pannu today reviewed the ongoing renovation and beautification works at the historic Mata Shri Kali Devi Temple here. He was accompanied by members of the Temple Advisory Management Committee, CA Ajay Alipuria and Sanjay Singla, besides PRTC Chairman Harpal Juneja.
Baltej Singh Pannu inspected the quality and progress of the ongoing construction works in detail. He said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann himself was reviewing the renovation work and was also issuing necessary directions to the officials of the Public Works Department and other concerned departments.
Interacting with the media on the occasion, Baltej Singh Pannu said that the beautification work at the temple was progressing on a war footing and all the development works would be completed by October. Thereafter, the temple would present a new and distinctive look to the devotees and visitors.
Pannu said that the primary objective of the government was to provide world-class facilities to devotees visiting the temple. He said that the temple is an ancient religious site of great significance and witnesses long queues of devotees. To ensure that devotees face no inconvenience, all necessary arrangements, including toilets, seating facilities, drinking water, langar and security, are being made without leaving any scope for shortcomings.
Pannu emphasised that all works are being undertaken by giving the highest priority to the faith, convenience and safety of devotees. In the coming period, Shri Kali Mata Temple will emerge as a major attraction not only for devotees and tourists from Punjab and India, but from across the world. This will also give a major boost to religious tourism in the region.
While appreciating the members of the Temple Advisory Management Committee, Baltej Singh Pannu said that the Punjab Government is fully committed to strengthening the infrastructure at historic and religious sites. He was accompanied by OSD Gurwinder Singh, Ravinderpal Singh Prince Lamba, Simran Grewal and other leaders.
