Taking another important step towards providing world-class health services to the people of the state, Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh today launched state-of-the-art robotic-assisted surgery technology for orthopedic treatment in Patiala. Civil Surgeon Patiala Dr. Shelly Jaitley was also specially present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Balbir Singh said that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is fully committed to providing modern, quality and affordable health services to the people. He said that adopting new technology in the health sector is the need of the hour and robotic-assisted surgery is a major achievement in this direction.

The Health Minister said that orthopedic surgeries performed with the help of robotic technology can be done with greater precision, safety and success than before. With this technology, the patient also experiences less pain after the operation. Along with this, the patient recovers faster, due to which he can return to normal life quickly.

The Health Minister said that there is a perception among the people that robotic surgery is very expensive, but this is not necessary. The aim of this technology is to provide better treatment and faster recovery to the patients. He expressed confidence that with this facility, the people of Patiala and surrounding areas will get great benefit and they will not have to go to other metropolises for such treatment.

Dr. Balbir Singh said that Patiala is becoming an important hub of health services and with this new facility, patients from Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and other nearby states will also get the benefit of high-quality treatment. This will not only strengthen the regional health infrastructure, but Punjab will also make its own identity in the field of modern medical technology.

On this occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr. Shelly Jaitley said that robotic-assisted surgery technology will prove to be a new chapter in the health sector. He said that this will provide safe, reliable and high quality health services to the patients.

The function was also attended by officials of the health department, doctors and other prominent personalities. The guests present termed this initiative as a historic and milestone step in the health services of Punjab and said that with such modern facilities, the treatment of people will become more effective and easy.
