RRU Trains 261 Punjab Police Officers in Claude AI and Prompt Engineering
Gandhinagar, Gujarat- Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), through its School of Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security (SITAICS), successfully conducted a three-day Foundation Course on “Claude AI 101 & Prompt Engineering” for 261 officers of Punjab Police from 15 to 17 June 2026 in an online live virtual mode. The programme commenced with the inaugural address by Dr. Jasbirkaur Thadhani, University Dean (I/c), who noted that AI tools help officers manage growing information volumes and automate routine paperwork, freeing their judgement for where it matters most. The programme was convened by Dr. Chandresh Parekh, Director, SITAICS, and coordinated by Mr. Poojan Shah, Assistant Professor, SITAICS.
Spread across nine sessions and six hours of hands-on learning, the course was purpose-built for law enforcement officers. Day One covered AI fundamentals, Large Language Model architecture, and prompt engineering — introducing the four pillars of effective prompting: Role, Task, Context, and Output Format. Participants also explored offline AI tools such as Ollama and LM Studio, enabling secure AI use without internet connectivity with apps like Google AI Edge Gallery.
Day Two focused on document intelligence, where participants built cross-document knowledge bases using Claude Projects and NotebookLM, and conducted citation-backed multi-document analysis. The session also introduced Bhasini, a Make-in-India AI tool for text and speech processing in Indian regional languages. Day Three brought together responsible AI governance, red-teaming, and no-code automation through Zapier. The valedictory address was delivered by Dr. Dharmeshkumar Prajapati, Registrar (I/c), who congratulated all participants on the successful completion of the training and reaffirmed that the human-in-the-loop remains non-negotiable in all AI-assisted workflows.
Participant feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Officers described the training as highly informative, noting that the well-structured content, practical examples, and hands-on sessions significantly enhanced their understanding of AI tools and prompt engineering techniques. Several participants also expressed keenness to stay updated as the technology evolves, requesting that future programmes incorporate the latest advancements in AI — a need that RRU intends to address through continued and updated offerings.
Rashtriya Raksha University aims to encourage State Police Forces and National Security Organisations across Globally to adopt and effectively use various AI tools to strengthen their capabilities and improve operational effectiveness.
