Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini has fulfilled a big promise made to the Sikh community and the people of the state. The state government has included the history related to the Sikh Gurus and the great general Baba Banda Singh Bahadur in the syllabus of Class 8 history of schools. Now school students will be able to know in detail about the sacrifice, bravery and great ideals of the Sikh Gurus and Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Ji.
It is worth mentioning that during the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji celebrated in Haryana, the Chief Minister had announced that it would be made a part of school education to make the coming generations aware of Sikh history and their great sacrifices, which has now been implemented.
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said:
“From Guru Nanak Dev Ji to Guru Gobind Singh Ji, all the Sikh Gurus have given the message of humanity, equality, service, and social justice. The lives of the Sikh Gurus and Baba Banda Singh Bahadur are not just the legacy of a community, but a source of inspiration for the entire country.”
He further said that Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, inspired by Guru Gobind Singh Ji, fought against oppression and injustice and gave their rights to the weaker sections of the society. His life inspires the youth to follow the path of truth.
‘Sanskar Nirman’ will be done through education
Shri Saini said that in today’s era, it is very important to connect the new generation with its glorious history. This new syllabus will instill patriotism, sense of service, moral values, and responsible citizenship in the students. The Haryana Government considers education not only as a means of acquiring knowledge, but also as a strong means of building sanskar.
