Chandigarh , September 2. Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that the aim of the government is to provide better and necessary facilities like cities to villages as well. The government is continuously working on the development of villages , the government is trying to provide all kinds of facilities in rural areas as well.
Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini was chairing the meeting of the State Finance Committee at the Secretariat on Wednesday. In the meeting, the officials proposed to set up 582 Village Knowledge Centres in the state with the help of NABARD. A total amount of Rs 514.53 crore will be spent on this project , under which each Village Knowledge Centre will cost around Rs 88.33 lakh. Development and Panchayat Minister Shri Krishan Lal Panwar was also present during this. The Chief Minister directed the Finance Department to give financial approval for the required funding for this project on priority basis , so that the implementation of the scheme can be ensured in a time-bound manner.
Village Knowledge Center will be developed as an ‘ all-in-one ‘ support center in the village , where officials of Development and Panchayat Department as well as other departments will also be available. With this, the villagers will be able to easily get essential facilities and services related to various departments at one place. These will also provide facilities like meeting room , Sarpanch office , CSC. Room , digital library , caretaker room.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to plant a shade tree along with the platform in each ‘ Village Knowledge Centre ‘ complex. He said that platforms and trees have always been a part of interaction , conversation and community life in villages. Taking forward this traditional rural culture and heritage, such arrangements should be made in the Village Knowledge Centre complex so that this centre does not remain just a place of government services but also becomes a convenient community place for the villagers to sit , chat and interact with each other .
Special attention should also be paid to repairing , paving and street lighting of streets.
Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that improving basic facilities is very important for the development of villages. He directed the officials to make proper arrangements for repairing the streets in rural areas. He said that sometimes complaints related to the level and maintenance of the streets come to the fore from the villagers. In such a situation, it should be ensured that where any part of the street needs repair due to collapse or damage , instead of unnecessarily digging up the entire street, that part should be repaired as per the requirement , so that government money is also used properly and the villagers do not have to face unnecessary hassle. The Chief Minister also directed to pay special attention to improving the drainage system of rural areas and maintaining the street lighting properly . He said that the minor problems related to basic facilities in the villages should be resolved in a timely manner , so that the villagers can get better facilities and the maximum benefits of development works reach the common people.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister’s Deputy Chief Secretary Mr. Arun Kumar Gupta , Additional Chief Secretary of Development and Panchayat Department Mr. Vijendra Singh , Commissioner and Secretary of Finance Department Mr. C.G. Rajni Kanthan , Director of Development and Panchayat Department Mr. Anish Yadav along with other senior officers of the department were present.
