Patiala, October 26
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today launched a scathing attack on BJP, saying that BJP is seeking votes to usurp Punjab University, Chandigarh and Punjab’s water. He said that depriving the state of its legitimate rights and withholding financial dues is an old habit of BJP. Modi government has withheld

Punjab’s RDF and VAT dues for four and a half years. Taking the Modi government to task for withholding the Rural Development Fund (RDF) and VAT dues, he also sharply targeted the Akali Dal and the BJP on the issue of drug abuse. He said that these two parties had harmed Punjab during their previous tenures and were now preparing to contest elections together to gain electoral advantage.

The Chief Minister stressed that Punjab would not tolerate any compromise on its rights and interests. He further stated that the opposition’s frustration was a result of the continued public support for the Aam Aadmi Party.

Speaking to the media, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The BJP is seeking votes by conspiring to snatch Punjab University, Chandigarh, and Punjab’s water. Depriving Punjab of its legitimate rights has become a long-standing practice of the BJP. The people of Punjab have made immense sacrifices for the country, contributed to the country’s food security, and are steadfastly guarding national security, yet the state is facing injustice at the hands of the BJP-led central government.”

The Chief Minister clarified, “Punjab will never allow any political party to harm its interests or compromise the rights of its people. Punjab University is a vital institution linked to Punjab’s history, identity, and academic heritage, while our water resources are vital to our agricultural economy and the livelihoods of millions of farmers. The people of Punjab will not tolerate any conspiracy to undermine the state’s institutions, water, or financial rights.”

Slamming the Modi government for Punjab’s outstanding financial funds, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The Modi government has withheld Punjab’s RDF and VAT dues for the last four and a half years. Withholding funds for such a long period is a grave injustice to the people of Punjab and impacts the state’s vital development and rural infrastructure projects. Punjab is demanding nothing more than its legitimate rights, and the central government must fulfill its financial responsibilities towards the state.”

The Chief Minister said, “The people of Punjab deserve justice. Our state has every right to demand its rightful funds, and we will continue to raise our voice against pressure. No government can deprive Punjab of its rightful resources indefinitely. Punjab’s development and the well-being of its people cannot be sacrificed to the BJP’s political calculations.”

Launching a scathing attack on the Shiromani Akali Dal and the BJP on the issue of drug abuse, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “During their rule, the Akalis and the BJP spread the drug menace throughout Punjab. Countless families have suffered the emotional and social consequences of drug abuse, and our youth have paid a heavy price for these parties’ failures. The people of Punjab have not forgotten the damage done to the social fabric of the state.”

He claimed, “The Akali Dal and BJP are now preparing to contest the elections together, which has exposed their political opportunism. Parties that failed to manage Punjab in the past cannot escape their responsibility by joining hands again to gain electoral advantage. Punjab needs honest leaders, a government committed to decisive action against drugs and protecting the future of the youth, not opportunistic political alliances.”

The Chief Minister said, “People will judge political parties by their track record and their commitment to Punjab, not by their slogans. Those who compromised the state’s interests cannot erase their past failures by political defections. Punjab’s future must be built on honest governance, accountability, and a firm commitment to the welfare of the people.”

Referring to the growing public support for AAP, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The opposition parties are frustrated and frustrated by the growing public support for AAP. Their frustration reflects their inability to withstand the public’s trust in our government’s work and commitment to public welfare. Instead of presenting a credible alternative, the opposition is simply not tolerating the public’s support for AAP.”

The Chief Minister clarified, “Our government is working to protect Punjab’s interests, strengthen public services, and create better opportunities for its people. We stand firmly with our farmers, youth, laborers, and ordinary families. The progress of Punjab and the well-being of its people remain our priority, and we will continue to work with determination to fulfill their expectations.”

Reiterating his government’s resolve to protect the rights of Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The rights, pride and interests of Punjab are inalienable. No political pressure or electoral equation can stop us from raising our voice against injustice and fighting for the legitimate rights of the state. The people of Punjab have always raised their voice against oppression and will continue to do so.”

The Chief Minister stressed, “Punjab’s water, its institutions, and its legitimate financial dues cannot be made pawns in political bargaining. We will resolutely defend the interests of our state and its people. Punjab has made immense contributions to the nation, and its people deserve respect, equality, and justice. Our government will never compromise on Punjab’s rights.
