Punjab: 16 July: The renovation work of Jalandhar Cantt Railway Station in Punjab is nearing completion and is likely to be dedicated to the public soon. Under this project, which was built at a cost of about Rs 125 crore, the station has been equipped with modern facilities.
According to railway officials, new waiting houses, better access arrangements, digital information system, beautiful exterior structure and many other modern facilities have been developed at the station for the convenience of passengers. This project has been prepared under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme of the central government.
Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu visited the station and reviewed the preparations. He reviewed the security, passenger management and other administrative arrangements and also gave necessary instructions to the officials.
The railway department says that the renovation of the station will not only provide better facilities to the passengers, but will also give a new identity to the rail infrastructure of the region. This project is part of a massive campaign being run for the modernization of railway stations across the country.
