Government schools across Punjab will remain open on Sunday, July 19, despite it being a weekly holiday, to facilitate the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls.

As part of the voter list revision exercise, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are conducting door-to-door verification and enumeration, a process that will continue until August 3.

To make the exercise more convenient for voters, a one-day special camp will be held at all polling booths across the state on July 19, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The camp will enable eligible voters to fill and submit their enumeration forms with ease.

Punjab Chief Electoral Officer Anindita Mitra urged citizens who have not yet completed their enumeration forms to visit their nearest polling booth or contact their respective Booth Level Officer during the special camp.

She emphasized that active public participation is essential to ensure that the name of every eligible voter is included in the draft electoral roll, scheduled to be published on August 13. Booth Level Officers will remain available at all designated polling stations throughout the camp to assist voters with the verification process.
