Patiala: Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University (JGND PSOU), Patiala, and Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University (SGGSWU), Fatehgarh Sahib, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen academic collaboration and promote excellence in higher education.
The agreement was signed under the leadership of the Vice Chancellors of both universities with the aim of fostering long-term cooperation in academics, research, faculty development, and institutional growth.
The MoU provides a framework for joint academic initiatives, faculty exchange programmes, collaborative research projects, and knowledge-sharing activities. The partnership is expected to enhance the quality of higher education while encouraging innovation and academic excellence in both institutions.
The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. (Dr.) Rattan Singh, Vice Chancellor of Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala, and Prof. (Dr.) Pritpal Singh, Vice Chancellor of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib.
Other dignitaries present included Dr. Kuldeep Walia, Director, Centre for Internal Quality Assurance (CIQA), Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University; Dr. Tejbir Singh, Registrar, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University; Dr. Sukhwinder Singh Baling, Dean, Academic Affairs; Dr. Ankdeep Kaur, Director, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC); and Dr. Paramjit Singh, Head of the Department of Law.
Speaking on the occasion, the university officials expressed confidence that the collaboration would pave the way for meaningful academic partnerships, strengthen institutional capabilities, and create new opportunities for students, researchers, and faculty members of both universities.
