Patiala July 21:
A special checking campaign was conducted by the Civil Surgeon’s Office, Patiala under the National Tobacco Control Program. This campaign was conducted under the leadership of District Program Officer Dr. Inderpreet Randhawa.
During this, the team conducted a special investigation in Tripuri, Siona Road and Sirhind Road, Patiala.
Dr. Inderpreet Randhawa said that during the investigation, 9 challans were issued against those who violated sections 4 and 6 of the COTPA Act, from whom a fine of Rs 1,450 was collected. The department clarified that strict action will continue in the coming time against those who violate the rules regarding the sale and use of tobacco products.
Health officials appealed to the people to stay away from drugs like tobacco. They said that these programs being run by the government are very important for improving the health of the people and increasing awareness.
Dr. Inderpreet Randhawa said that such checks will continue in the coming days as well so that a tobacco-free society can be ensured.
Civil Surgeon’s Office officials Anil Guru and Khushbir were also present during this campaign.
