Patiala, July 21:

To strengthen the city’s sanitation system and review the progress of the under-construction Dog Shelter House being developed for the care of stray dogs, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Pooja Syal Grewal, Mayor Kundan Gogia, and Sanitary Inspector Harvinder Singh conducted a special inspection of the city’s dump site and the new Dog Shelter House. Officials and employees from the concerned departments were also present during the visit.

During the inspection, the officials closely reviewed the waste disposal process, sanitation arrangements, and the functioning of machinery at the dump site. Commissioner Pooja Syal Grewal directed the officials to further improve cleanliness standards and ensure scientific disposal of waste so that environmental protection is maintained while minimizing inconvenience to residents living in nearby areas.

The team also visited the under-construction Dog Shelter House, where they reviewed the progress of construction, assessed the facilities being developed, and discussed other essential arrangements. The officials instructed the concerned authorities to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining high construction quality.

Mayor Kundan Gogia stated that the Municipal Corporation Patiala is continuously working to make the city cleaner, greener, and more environmentally friendly. He said that once completed, the Dog Shelter House will provide a more systematic facility for the care and management of stray dogs, offering significant relief to the general public.

On the occasion, Commissioner Pooja Syal Grewal, Mayor Kundan Gogia, and Sanitary Inspector Harvinder Singh issued necessary directions to the concerned officials to further strengthen sanitation arrangements, ensure efficient management of the dump site, and expedite the completion of the Dog Shelter House. They emphasized that the Municipal Corporation will continue conducting such inspections and review visits to promote the city’s development and provide better civic amenities to its residents.
