Patiala, July 17 – A meeting of the Municipal Corporation Employees’ Union was held at the Municipal Corporation office under the chairmanship of Hari Singh Tohrha, President of the Punjab State Employees’ Union. A three-member committee was constituted to conduct the annual election of the Municipal Corporation Employees’ Union. The committee, comprising Hari Tohrha, Jatinder Kumar Prince (Chairman), and Rajesh Mani (President, Technical Employees’ Union), conducted the election in which Keval Krishna won by a huge majority and was elected President for the third consecutive term.
Apart from Keval Krishna, Jatinder Kumar Prince was elected Chairman, Mandeep Bhardwaj as General Secretary, Anil Kumar as Vice President, Mohit Kumar and Kamal Kumar as Working Presidents, Navdeep Sharma and Gurvinder Singh as Chief Advisors, Deepak Kumar as Senior Secretary, Akash Sharma as Secretary, Lavneesh Kumar as Office Secretary, Harjinderjit Singh as Press Secretary, and Prem Lata as President of the Women’s Wing. The newly formed committee was authorized to appoint the remaining office bearers.
Newly elected President Keval Krishna stated that a memorandum regarding the employees’ demands falling under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Commissioner would be prepared and submitted to the Commissioner at the earliest. He added that the demands requiring action at the government level would also be forwarded to the government through a separate memorandum. He appealed to all employees to extend their full support to the union so that their demands could be fulfilled effectively.
