Punjab govt starts auctioning properties of VAT, GST defaulters to recover crores in pending dues

The Punjab government has begun auctioning properties belonging to chronic VAT and GST defaulters as part of an intensified effort to recover long-pending tax dues worth crores of rupees. According to Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, the Excise and Taxation Department has already conducted successful auctions in Mohali and Jalandhar districts and plans many more in the coming weeks.
