Chandigarh, October 27 – Haryana Governor Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh stated that in today’s era, the world needs not only individuals who know the answers to questions, but also young people who possess the courage to ask better questions and explore new possibilities. A student’s true identity is defined not merely by their degree, but by the depth of their thinking, the strength of their character, and the application of their knowledge for the benefit of humanity. Therefore, all degree holders should make a significant contribution to the development of the nation and the state through education, innovation, entrepreneurship, and social commitment. Furthermore, they should make knowledge, character, and human values the foundation of their lives.
Governor Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh was addressing the 35th convocation ceremony of R.K.S.D. College in Kaithal on Tuesday. On this occasion, degrees were conferred upon approximately 190 undergraduate and postgraduate students. During the convocation ceremony, while extending his best wishes to all the students receiving their degrees, he remarked that this event serves both as a celebration of the students’ academic achievements and as the beginning of a new journey in their lives. With the knowledge they have acquired over the years, the students now have the opportunity to make the world a better place through their ideas, talents, and capabilities. Post-graduate students, in particular, should strive to translate their knowledge and experience into innovative thinking and positive change.
Governor Prof. Ghosh commended the entire team at R.K.S.D. College, noting that the institution currently educates approximately 5,000 students—including 2,600 female students—and remains committed to fostering their academic and holistic development. The knowledge, guidance, and values imparted by teachers to their students will remain an invaluable asset for them throughout their lives. The thoughts, conduct, and ideals of teachers inspire students to face the challenges of the future.
He noted that RKSD College, which has been contributing to the field of education since 1954, holds a distinct place among the prominent educational institutions in Haryana. The institution has played a significant role, particularly in providing quality educational opportunities to students from the surrounding rural areas. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that no student in the state is deprived of the opportunity to receive a quality education.
Concluding his address, Governor Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh urged students, teachers, and parents to contribute toward making Haryana a developed state and realizing Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘Developed India’ (Viksit Bharat) by the year 2047. He stated that through knowledge, innovation, hard work, entrepreneurship, and a commitment to social responsibility, a future must be built in which the benefits of development reach every section of society, and everyone has access to equal opportunities, dignity, and prosperity.
Present on this occasion were Ashwani Shorwala (President, Rashtriya Vidya Samiti); former Presidents of the Samiti, Satish Bansal, Saket Mangal, and Anil Shorwala; Vice-Presidents Mahesh Mangal and Shyam Bansal; General Secretary Pankaj Bansal; Municipal Councilor Rohan Mittal; Treasurer Ashok Mangal; Governing Body Treasurer Sunil Chaudhary; College Principal Dr. Gagan Mittal; Vice-Principal Dr. Rajbir Parashar; as well as Navneet Goyal, Arun Saraf, Dr. C.B.
