Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema today dedicated various road development projects to the public in the region’s villages. These projects, totaling approximately Rs. 8.76 crore, have significantly improved connectivity and transportation facilities in the villages.
During a program held in Daska village, the Finance Minister informed that the approximately 10.5-kilometer road from Bachhuana to Bareta (via Daska and Bahadurpur) has been widened from 12 feet to 18 feet. Approximately Rs. 7 crore 15 lakh has been spent on this project. He said that previously, due to the broken and narrow road, people faced significant difficulties commuting and the risk of accidents. Now, with the widening of the road, it has become easier for residents of Bachhuana, Daska, and Bahadurpur to travel to Bareta.

Previously, this unpaved road caused significant inconvenience to residents during the rainy and summer seasons, but now this problem has been completely eliminated, and connectivity between the two villages has been strengthened.
The Finance Minister also announced that the approximately 1 kilometer-long road leading to Dera Baba Dhaula Pir, located on the Daska-Bahadurpur Road, has been constructed at a cost of ₹34.50 lakh (3.45 million rupees). Devotees coming to this religious site from various villages will now have access to better and easier transportation.
He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, large-scale road construction and renovation work is underway in Punjab, and approximately 40,000 kilometers of roads are being strengthened.
