Chandigarh , September 2 – Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that a survey report should be prepared by going into the background of less educated youth and a better action plan should be implemented for their all-round development.
Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini was presiding over a meeting organized on Wednesday to review the presentation of Good Practices of Various Departments. Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi , Additional Chief Secretary Sudhir Rajpal , Dr. Sumita Mishra , G. Anupama , A.K. Singh , Vijender Kumar and many senior officers were present in the meeting.
The Chief Minister was informed that under the Skill Development Programme in Jails, ITIs are being run in 5 jails of the state so that the prisoners can easily start their own businesses after coming out of the jails. In these, one year training was given in 8 different trades in which 123 youth have passed ITI. Apart from this, a short term vocational course of up to three months is also being conducted in 20 jails in which 1,604 youth have registered.
It was informed in the meeting that under the Ullas Yojana in Jails, 3,321 youth have been registered for higher education. Similarly, under the educational program, admissions have been made from IGNOU and NIOS to provide education.
He said that as per the educational profile of the inmate population, there are 3,346 illiterate youth in various jails of the state . Therefore, a detailed survey should be conducted on those youth and information should be collected as to the reasons for which they are less educated.
Geo-tagging of every tree should be ensured.
Reviewing the Forest Department, the Chief Minister said that this year, 70 lakh saplings have been planted under the target of planting 1 crore 40 lakh saplings. In this, saplings have been planted on more than one acre of land in 19 areas of Green Cover Miyawaki Scheme . After planting one lakh saplings in cities, their security guards have been deployed with the help of Urban Local Government Department and geo-tagging of every tree is being ensured.
He said that 1,392 types of plants are being prepared in more than 200 nurseries of the state and the responsibility of planting the plants and maintaining them for three years is being ensured. The Chief Minister said that a report should also be prepared and presented on the planting of white saplings in waterlogged areas and how many of the plants planted last year survived .
2,157 Gram Panchayats declared TB free
The Chief Minister was informed that Haryana is the first state in the country to provide Tele ECG service, with Tele ECG services being provided in all its 600 health institutions. Through this, serious diseases of 1,086 patients were detected on time and health benefits were provided to them.
The Health Department has declared 2,157 Gram Panchayats TB free under the National TB Program. Medicines and Rs. 1,000 assistance are being provided to TB patients through Nishya Mitran. Apart from this, facilities are being provided to cancer patients in the day care center.
He said that under the Quality Assurance and Rejuvenation Program, modern infrastructure has been provided in 16 district hospitals out of 22 districts and the work of the remaining hospitals will be completed by December. Under Swastha Nari Sashakt Parivar , BP , Diabetes , Cancer , NC , PNC , Vaccination , Nutrition , Mental Health and Adult Counseling facilities are being provided in district and sub-division hospitals. During the current year, 220247 women have benefited.
While reviewing the services department, the Chief Minister said that the benefit of Lado Lakshmi Yojana should be ensured to every eligible woman. No eligible woman should be deprived of getting the benefits. Pension and financial assistance to the disabled , widows , old age and widowers is being given through pro-active mode.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Secretary Ajay Kumar , Commissioner and Secretary J. Ganeshan , Secretary Home Department Aamna Tasneem, along with officials from the Services , Health , Home and Forest Departments.
